Food Councils: 10+ years experience with food policy councils and food system development efforts – starting, coordinating, and/or serving on 6 councils from the neighborhood to the state level in North Carolina. These include the Island CultureZ Neighborhood Food Council, Winston-Salem’s Urban Food Policy Council, Forsyth Foodworks (née Forsyth Community Food Consortium), Forsyth County’s Agricultural Advisory Board, Piedmont Triad Regional Food Council, and the NC Local Food Council.
Research, Planning, and Convening: Advisor for NC Food Resiliency Project sponsored by the Duke World Food Policy Center; Advisor for the 1st National Food Council Gathering hosted by Johns Hopkins University; Advisor and co-author of Forsyth County’s 2013 regional food system assessment; Advisor for Forsyth County’s farmland protection plan.
